This was easily the coolest band experience I've ever had. The drive up was scary, but at the venue we had a nice dressing room, several top notch sound people who knew exactly what they were doing, a long, full sound check, a very gracious and enthusiastic audience, and just a killer time overall. The show was sold out, and the Fillmore's capacity is 3,700. Here are pics:
-The drive up- -sound checking- -the itinerary- -blurry- -I look pained here- -I guess something funny happened but I don't remember what- -Marty and Eric from the Shins stealing our shot- -crazed Shins crowd-

A few things,
First shot, all the fog and ice. Maury braved it and drove like a champ for 100 miles of that stuff. He never faultered. Second shot, the sound person just asked "Ok, which one of you just pee'd your pants"? I of course raised my hand. Actually my nerves were a little better than I anticipated. The rest was a big blur of surrealism. |

You should've driven up, Dave. It would have been rad. I think there were some Albq. people there because when we said we were from Albuquerque, a lot of people in the crowd cheered and screamed. Either they were from there or just really like Albq. |

We sold a fair amount. Although, the biggest thing was the exposure. We recieved a lot of friend requests after this show. We played for an enormous crowd of people already into the genre of music we play and got some good feedback. We are very thankful to have had this opportunity.
I can say that The Shins and Viva Voce are very humble people. They are so down to earth and it was refreshing to see the bigger bands just out there having fun with no egos. Both bands put on great performances. They deserve the success. |

Ya, we are. I'm not sure when they're coming, probably not for a few months. They didn't know the date, but they said they'd be playing the Kiva Auditorium. |
