This was only the second time I had seen Ya Ya Boom. To be honest, I was pretty much the only recalcitrant member of the audience the first time I saw them 2 years ago at EVOC – but this time, I was thoroughly impressed.

I could go on and on about how well they performed and how much Marisa’s voice blew me away (that little girl sang her fricken heart out), but it would be a very long and very lamentably “ghey” post. That, and I’m way too tired to decently write the praise this band deserves so much.

If you haven’t yet – go see them. And be sure to buy their new cd cause I imagine it won’t be too many years before somebody will be telling Lisa Kekaula to “move over.” Okay, maybe that's a stretch. But a little stretch.
