Murder by Death was in great form last night at the Sunshine. I would love to see them play launchpad again. They even played songs off all 4 of their albums which, to me, is rare if you're not a headliner or pretty popular.
Clutch was great too. Amazing frontman for that band.

mbd and clutch definitely brought it. i got a little spaced out towards the end of clutch's set when they played those 4 slower/mid tempo songs that all kind of blended together. but man, their drummer is insane.

yeah, that was a great show! the sound was damn good for the sunshine. the vocalist totally kills it. i would have like a little more guitar in the mix though, but it was an all around kick ass show... and one of the best 'vibes' at any rock show I've been to at Sunshine.

yeah, i knew that would've been a problem, so i remedied it by standing directly in front of the guitar player. Smile

Sorry, I know this was a while ago, but manoman Murder By Death was amazing. I loved how the lead singer (Adam, I think) mentioned the last time they came through NM was in Clovis at the Hole. That's so crazy because I remember playing at the Hole like maybe just a couple weeks after they had been there and Jon LeBlanc was like, "dudes, you have to hear these guys". I was instantly smitten. I saw on their tour page that they're coming back to Abq May 22nd.

As far as Clutch goes, the thing is, I was there to see Murder By Death above all. Clutch is a good band and everything, but meh....they didn't do it for me I guess. But yeah, the sound was right on that night.

Well to each his/her own, I suppose. I still can't figure out why Murder By Death--an arty, emo-y band with a girl playing a cello--was touring with a pretty straightforward Rock band like Clutch. Perhaps to expose either's fans to the other and expand the fan base? Still, I went to Rock out to Clutch, who were kinda sluggish and ocasionally off tempo that night, but at least ther were no classical instruments in the band. But having a band that can't hold my interest, like Murder By Death, gave my crew and I plenty of time to drink and smoke* and stuff before Clutch.

* it's so strange to see grown people sneaking a smoke in the bathrooms. although it does divert attention from what i'm doing there...

(still the best) Hated (band in town).....

I think it's because they are managed by the Syndicate who primarily works with hard rock/metal bands.
It was nice to see that they won over some new fans out of the Clutch crowd.

i noticed that too! (but i couldn't get anyone in my posse to agree with me) they said it was just me... jerks. they had me convinced that i had just over-indulged

i'm glad someone else noticed them loose tempo a few times

still a great show

Bakerton Group is an instruemental offshoot of Clutch. I think three or four of the guys from Clutch are in the band. But no vocals. Still very cool. Kind of trippy, funky, heavy jams, with some of that southern feel of Clutch. This show should be sweet.

I think you can download some tracks on Clutch's website.

Who's opening?
