Killer show:

Torture Victim sounds great as a 3-piece - killer set, guys!

SuperGiant laid down the heaviest set I've ever heard outta them despite Joel being pretty ill (in the literal sense). Lotsa old material, great performance.

Weedeater: Fucking slayed. You just don't get much heavier. The entire wall was vibrating. Also, if Popeye was a half redneck/half leprechaun bass sludgemeister with fire ants in his britches, he'd be Dixie Dave. One of the most intense bands out there.

Overall: The sound was TITS, and it pretty much has been at every LP show I've attended since the reopening. And for a Tuesday night, ABQ was well-represented with a strong turnout.

Excellent! I got stuck at work until 1am, so thanks for the quick re-cap.

WEEDEATER was fucking awesome. Definitely not for everyone but I dig them big time. They are the ultimate in stoner sludge. The guitar and bass tones were so freaking mucky you could hardly make out the notes. Dirty dirty dirty rock n roll right there, tube sound doesn't get much thicker than that. Bone-rattling bass frequencies and weed-drenched riffs that I've had in my head for two daze now. Dixie is a fucking maniac on and off stage and fun to watch perform. I'm glad he didn't puke on anyone this time around. Those guys are super nice and supportive with zero ego which is a nice change cus some of the touring bands of late have been real dicks. They gave us props and they even bought our CD and paid for it even when we insisted they take it for free. RESPECT
