A lot of talent at Launchpad this night. Everyone rocked the heck out and all these bands were a pleasure to work with. I had a particularly good time, and had an adventure figuring out a new type of technical difficulty.

Damn. What a great show. Much love and respect to all the bands. Shit was in the fucking POCKET last night. A shout to the chick who became the first ever contestant on the "Come-On-Stage-And-Let-Simfonik-Mike-Spank-You-With-A-Riding-Crop-Whilst-Lance-And-Aaron Tune-Down" show. Mad, basketball sized Kudos to lights and sound last night. Those two dudes kicked fucking ASS! Thanks to LB for having us. Whoever posted the photos, fucking ACE (Left Brain is SO much prettier than Simfonik Plague) and yes, Lance was hammered in that photo and yes, he looks it. I drank a lot also.

I can dig that, Mr. Black, but since our music obviously isn't good enough to get heads at our show, we thought a visual element was called for. My plan is to see how many volunteers we get the next couple of gigs, and then re-evaluate. If it proves to be a popular thing we'll keep it. Black, would it be better if we had you come up and do the spanking?* We're not turning into some sort of performance-art-bondage-band. I(and I'm sure the audience)get pretty bored during the two down-tune interludes, and I figure seeing some hottie get spanked is more fun than watching me do a "solo."

*I was only half-kidding, Black. If you're at a Plague performance, we'd love to give you the riding crop as the honorary spanker!

Now this is the part that really gets me. You see, I dig drum solos. I'm always buggin' our drummer to do more of that. In fact last time I saw y'all, I grabed him and a couple other bandmates and pointed excitedly at you and exclaimed something to the effect of,
"Check out Mike!! damn, he is killing it!! Now that's a drum solo! Y'all should look into something like that! Hear how it adds to the overall quality of the song? See how I'm getting stoked?"
No, I would encourage more display of your rhythmic knowledge, although the thought of manning the 'crop is indeed an interesting one. I think I'll check and see when y'all are playing next. Hmmmm...........!

I love the spanking idea! In fact I have a night booked at the GW, July 21 if you guys want in, I need to see this! I might need a turn on that riding crop as well; on the operating end that is, not the receiving end! Perverts!!!

After all of this informed discussion, I have reached a decision: The riding crop will attend SP shows, but I won't bust it out on stage each time, and I'll try not to feel like too much of a dick if I take a quick solo while the strings go from B-string to A, and then E-string to D.

You should use the riding crop in your drum solo... maybe to hit a gong set up behind your kit.

Also, it might help if you give the riding crop a name and maybe draw a face on it.

It's too small for a drawn face to be effective, but I was reading an old Bloom County book and after one of my heroes I've named the riding crop Bill. Bill the Riding Crop. If any of you fuckers have a better name for it (him?) let me know! I'm open to suggestions.

Oh come on now guys, you can't tell me that your egos have grown that much since the last time we played together that you can't do a show at the Golden West, especially one with LTD and Simfonik! I realize it may not be the best venue downtown, but a show is a show!

Nah.. no egoes here brotha. I'm not going to go into the gory details about it cuz "They" will be after us with flaming torches and pitched forks.
