actually, according to the radio stations associated, they whole thing was expected to draw 40 thousand people. which is a bit of a ridiculous assumption if you ask me.

they had a news story on channel 7 and they were talking about the "crowds", and the camera panned over the downs, and I counted 5 or 6 people. seriously. maybe it was during a lull in the crowds, i don't know.
