I saw it on the news last night, they were expecting 15-20 thousand people, I guess there was only like 3 or 4. But it is the first year, and I imagine the bands they get will continue to get better.

actually, according to the radio stations associated, they whole thing was expected to draw 40 thousand people. which is a bit of a ridiculous assumption if you ask me.

SantaFe Muzik Fest

they had a news story on channel 7 and they were talking about the "crowds", and the camera panned over the downs, and I counted 5 or 6 people. seriously. maybe it was during a lull in the crowds, i don't know.

So I'm guessing this wasn't "The biggest event in New Mexico history" that I had read about?

Amanda from Concepto Tambor mentioned in her blog that the crowd was very small.

I went and the venue was awesome!! I hope they do it again next year, as it will take some years for it to really catch on, remember Rome was not built in a day (or three days). Go and support next year, maybe your band will still be around and you will get asked to play... ;-)
