The Gracchi played a super fun set at the launchpad -- the sound guy took for-ev-er setting us up, but Jebus, did it sound good!

It's funny that both the Rip Torn and RGTH are both down a member or two now (Rip Torn is a two-piece drum and bass unit, RGTH is Rexxless), and you now what? I think both bands are better off. Purely musically speaking, of course.

I love the direction Rip Torn is taking. Fucking LOVE it. Impeccable musicianship and this incredibly refreshing new sound. And the bassist uses this Echo Park 6 pedal like a third instrument (or band member, for that matter). It's awesome!

And Romeo, good grief. Rachel can play rhythm and lead guitar at the same time like a professional and it sounds far better than splitting the parts between two people. (And, I might add, she does it while jumping around in spikey 4-inch heels. That's fucking tough.). She's come into her own. My hats off to her and all of you.

I hope to post some pictures here as soon as I can. If you've got some of your own from any Halloween gigs, post them here!

Squawk on.

Yeah, I was there for Rip Torns set, I’ve never seen them before. For a two piece band, they were kicking some serious ass. Rhythm bass, lead bass and delay all at the same time that made a sweet sound. Went down to Burt’s and checked out some more bands, but that mystery beer did not sit right. I still have a hangover! My cousin was almost passed out at the bar at Atomic while we listened to a bad Karaoke version of “I walk the line”. I wanted to go back to Burt’s but my cousin is hard to carry so I had to go home early before he passed out.

Hey, it's not my fault!

I pulled something in my neck. Does anyone have an extra one I can borrow?

I was really suprised at the turnout. Tuesday, after a HEAVY party weekend, and still had a good crowd. I for one was partied out and thought there would be 10 people there.

Gracchi and Caustic Lye sounded great as well. As always. The sound guy checked every band carefully. They kept on the front music when Gracchi started and I didn't even know they were on for 3, 4 (more?) songs. I'm sitting theren thinking, "what the hell is taking so long?" And I look up and realize I'm missing it.

That costume contest was rigged!

Tuesday night was surprisingly to me fun over at the District. Due to the districts bad planning our 9 to 11 set got bumped back to 12 but it worked out for the better for us. When we got there early it seemed the place was going to be dead but come around 12:15ish the place picked up quite a bit. (I think it had to do with the costume contest) I was able to see a bit of Ants Have Voices, a band I’ve never seen before but I was definitely surprised at the quality of music. Then, in between moving equipment we saw Holiday Sail, also a great band probably the best over all sound I’ve heard from them in the 4 or 5 times I’ve seen them play. The vocals were loud enough to hear, and the volume of the instruments complimented it perfectly!

I would have to say the highlight of playing on Halloween night is the over exposed amount of ass walking around downtown. This goes for both male and females… People can get away with wearing some reviling costumes, but it helped make the night fun! Can I get an amen on that one?

Here’s a pic of NunchuK after we played. Elder Armijo, Rabi Eskew, and Father Sanders
