I went to Burt's and had a good time. I was planning on stopping by Moonlight lounge and Atomic, but we got booth at Burt's and I got drunk and didn't want to move.
There was an MC sighting though!

Realized the end of my rope was closer than I thought, so I spent all last week out of cell range and out of the way of humanity, up North. Just me, a guitar, my medicine and what was left of any semblance of sanity in an attempt to regain some of it. I didn't wish anyone was there and they weren't.
(still the best) Hated (band in town).....

Yeah, it was DaveFame's and my birthday Saturday night (big 30 for me, big 45 for Dave), and we went down to Atomic. Seemed like a good vibe out that night but for the cruisers screaming at my pregnant wife...if only I had laser vision.

I enjoyed a rather eclectic Saturday night. Saw a couple of metal bands at Telos. I had intended on seeing Mechanism of Eve and Amicus, but had to split early. I got to the Moonlight expecting to see Bellemah, but that show didn't get underway til later. So Jon & I walked out to the plaza and saw a swing band playing for the Summerfest thing they've got going. The rest of the night was spent walking back and forth between Moonlight and Burt's. Caught a little bit of I Is For Ida for the first time. I kept thinking of The Labyrinth (and inadvertantly, David Bowie's crotch) during the set. I also got to see Ghost Kimo for the first time. Lemme tell ya, that's some crazy tambourining action. I didn't get to see how they got those organs into the barrel though. I also got to see Nate's one-man-band Calico. The cuteness factor was way up...it was definitely the hat. Lessseee...I caught a very sober Volume Volume with the new guy on keys & guitar. And of course Bellemah, who are a delight. It was a pretty good weekend.
