Pre-holiday Friday night rockin' like rarely seen!
We showed up 30 minutes before "go" time, set up, sound-checked, got liquid refreshments, and still started on time. I guess if there is a lesson to be learned from our set, it's that, if you're a sound guy, don't tell RacerX to turn down! Torture Victim was next, burning and growling through a blistering set. Always play a great set. I hadn't seen Scarless in years, and didn't know really what to expect. The big surprise was a "special guest appearance" by Dave Tvedt, of Music-go-Round management fame, on bass. Dave rocked like he'd never quit playing with those guys and girls, and convinced me that Scarless needs to recruit a fulltime bass-slinger. Energy, passion, and tight arrangements, even with a guest. I'd tell you more about Anesthesia's set, but I was too busy getting my 50-year-old ass "accidentally" caught in the mosh! Overall, if you were anywhere near Downtown last night, you probably felt the earth tremble a bit. As usual, thanks to all who came to listen, and those who, all at short notice, put this show together, Bands, LP staff and Management....Anyone I forgot, this is for you! |
