where were all the so called rock lovers at this one? wino and company as well as kylesa kicked serious ass...no wonder these bands skip over town...no one goes out to see good touring bands??!?!
Don't blame me; I was there. Even got a shirt. I think I'll wear it tonight. :-)
To be fair, though, that was a very obscure, poorly publicized show. Frankly, if it weren't for the Rocksquawk thread, I would have stayed home that night.
The local openers were a *completely* different genre, so I wasn't surprised that so few of the "usual suspects" were there. With a few exceptions, everyone was very young and from the punk/hardcore crowd. Hidden Hand is the kind of band that I would have expected to see at Burt's, with Black Maria or SuperGiant or someone like that, playing with 'em.

Poorly publicized, yeah, because it was a last minute change, see:http://rocksquawk.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/507106529/m/1021076012
What I don't get is where are all the people who want all-ages shows or say they would support an all-ages venue? It's real hard to take that talk seriously. I would never open an all-ages venue in abq based on this kind of turnout.
Also, even if the bands don't consider skipping abq, us promoters don't even feel like bothering anymore.
I reallllly wanted to go but since I'd already promised wednesday nite to my lady (i found out about the show last minute) I would've been in the dog house had I gone. bad promotion for this show

it works the same as a 21+ show. If you get the locals that draw well in all age shows, you'll get a great turnout. there are locals that pull in 100+ in the all age scene pretty regularly.
