Big Lips and the skinny had a great night at Misty's on Saturday. Just wanted to thank The Kronic Obsession and Frudian Slip.Band should play at Mistys. It got cool 70's carpet, pool tables and nice staff. The only sad part of the night was that the Hollis Wake broke up the night before and so didn't play. I really liked them and I wish them well. RIP for another good ABQ band.

well folks i was there the night it went down...at ralli's...i wasnt gonna go around saying they broke up even though i saw and heard...and until they announce it...i really wont believe it...

anyhoo...there are some things that all bands have underlying issues...FACT...its how we deal with it...

so yeah...supposedly thats what happened...told my band like 10 minutes after conversing with a couple of the "wake"...one of my co-rockers mentioned it to the bar manager at misty's...now its snowballed...i was really hoping that it wouldnt get to rocksquawk until they make it official...but im really hoping its just issues and they continue to kick ass...

i really feel bad for even mentioning it to anybody...

Well, I was going to motion that we have a contest as to who can come up with the best rumor-reason. Now I feel all bad about it.

I'm going to assume, that if they are anything like bands that I've been in, that it must be my fault somehow.

I just saw two members of the Hollis Wake at a local music store putting up a musicians wanted ad, so it looks official to me.

Which two?

I don't know them by name, but it was the male guitar player and the girl with short, black hair.

Well maybe the happy outcome will be two kickass bands from the remnants of one.

It's mucho crappy. I talked to my "man on the the inside" and apparently its just been a lot of tension over a long period of time that finally resulted in a break-up during/after a gig.

But as MC pointed out, Christie and Malcolm are rolling with the punches and starting something new. Here's hoping.

That's nothing official from me, it's just from a friend of the band. Let the rumours continue.

yeah...its official...much sadness...but as boomhead said...two kick ass bands may result...best of luck to all of them...
