Saturday, January 31st was a beautiful Phoenix evening. It was a blustery 55 degrees at around 7:15 PM when we made our initial entrance to the Mason Jar Nightclub (I was playing the part of the roadie so as to avoid any cover charges). Let me start off by telling you that the Mason Jar is no small gig. Megadeath and several other nationally famous acts have played this same stage, but none have rocked harder without a lead guitarist. At approximately 8:15 PM RAMS took the stage:

“We are from Albuquerque, so don’t expect much.” Was the first thing Steve announced to the crowd. I am so pleased to tell you that Steve was just setting these people up for a knockout punch! When they started playing their opening chords, the whole place was vibrating from the heavy bass sound. It was almost as if there was some demon trying to break free from his prison beneath the stage! BOOM BOOM BOOM!!! CRUNCH!!! YEAH!!!

Steve and Cid had great harmonies, the bass was solid all around and the skins were sounding great. The mix was not as good as it should have been, and RAMS only got to play for 30 minutes, but the small set they played definitely won the crowd over. I am a huge fan, and I am glad to call these guys my friends.

Whenever you play a show away from your home turf it is always tough. RAMS had everything stacked against them and they shined through with flying colors. Props to them for their solid effort in the big city.

Snoogins,

Choo.

We all thank you very much, Squawkdude! That was a great opportunity. They have already asked us back later this month.
