AMAZING SHOW! Couldn't believe how good AIC sounded. The new singer was unbelievable. I saw VR when they came with Ozzfest, but wasn't impressed at all, but last night totally changed my mind. Along with playing VR tunes, they played some STP and some GnR. A bit gimmicky, but definitely kept my attention. Anybody else at the show?

Glad you had a great time.
Glad my ticket was free.

(We split after the VR singer lectured the crowd on what a Rock Show is, how they the band are not actors, how they are "putting it out there" and expect the crowd to "give it back", a bunch of other orders on how he expects the crowd to comport themselves, and then procede to launch into cover songs while the entire band IS SITTING AND PLAYING ON STOOLS! Completely un-Rock Show. Especially after such a pompus, assinine diatribe.)

Although there was a perverse thrill in knowing that I took a 16$ piss.
What a deal...

(still the best) Hated (band in town).....

ulgh! wiliam duvall makes me sick...

i don't know why jerry just dosn't rework the vocals so that a lead singer is not needed. his degradation trip album was awsome.

I don't care for that AIC singer, either. He can sing alright, but not enough balls.

They should have got that guy from Second Coming. He has way more umph and sounds darn near identical.

I thought about going but then it occurred to me that Alice in Chains, one of my all time favorites, died when Lane died. For me he is bar none one of the best rock vocalists ever, there are so many adjectives I could use to describe him. I felt like maybe the remaining members were all poor so they found a second rate singer and started touring. Which is cool...i guess Roll Eyes

For most original bands that are great you can't get away with replacing any of the members, it changes the dynamic of the band on all levels. AC/DC was just lucky to find someone who sounded exactly the same and still rocked, but still was no Bon.

I love Guns n Roses and I love STP, but Velvet Revolver and Audioslave are two "mega bands" that to me swing with the proverbial wet noodle....there is just no balls or edge. They are as boring as watching Golf.

What?

Yeah!
Keep it up and maybe we can have another giant thread about a mainstream band like with what happened on that White Stripes one.
