Man.. yeah, I got to try out some of my sneakiness… a friend and I hid in my blazer truck binge drinking out in the parking lot while the children’s bouncer scanned the premises. Little did I know, everyone was drinking in the back loading dock area of the venue. Man I used my sneakiness attribute for nothing!

How were the Johnny Cash Tribute Shows?

I missed the Johnny Cash Tribute, as I was in South Park, CO getting filled to the brim with Indie Rock. It was really a relief on the ride home to listen to some heavier music.

I saw so many bands up there. The Hollis Wake and The Dirty Novels were representing Albuquerque. Most bands were out of Denver or Indianapolis. Here are some honorable mentions. Go check these bands out (if you're into that kind of thing):

Lunar Event (Indianapolis)
Fielding (Long Beach)
Gooding (Wichita)
Monofog (?)
Born in the Flood (?)

There were some buzz bands there that I'm not really into. The hype must be there for a reason, decide for yourself:

The Hot IQs (from Denver, will be at the State Fair next week)
The Thieves (UK)
The Laylights

As I downed beer and Blacktooth I kept wondering where youse fuckers had gotten to. Then as the chronic was happening on the porch, I kept wondering where youse fuckers had gotten to. The children's bouncer of which you speak was helping us throw out beer cans along with the lady who was at the door. It was all good. Nabisco(DanWinterlock) had all his beer in the fridge which the Cell so thoughtfully provides. LawrenceDarkness was making like 10 Blacktooths(sic) at a time. I suppose we were sort of discreet with the chrondongdiddlyonic...And shit, everyone (except us) sounded AWESOME!!! Shit just keeps getting tighter and tighter with these bands. All you Squawkers need to come check out this particular lineup because it's usually a mini-Rocksquawk binge drinking festival. I highly recommend it. Hey Bucky, I hope your face is ok. It was a helluvan after party!!!

Speaking of indie rock, has anyone heard of The Weepies? I was floored by this incredibly musical duo. Good dark melodies and simple themes. I'm fucking sold.
