Payment
Base pay is 10% of the total bar sales + 100% of the door (if we allow a cover, it depends on the proven draw of the band). Promotion We do some promotion for all of our shows, but we leave the bulk of the promotion up to the bands. We get large banners showcasing our events every week from Budweiser. We have our chaukboard inside the venue where we list the events we have that week. We list the shows in our MySpace calendar and in our site calendar. On occasion (if we have an electronic copy of the flyer) we will also post bulletins on MySpace as well. While this helps, it is not enough. To assure that you will have a good turnout we advise strongly that you promote yourselves as much as possible. (Remember, these are YOUR shows. We rely on the bands to bring a crowd and in return we pay you and provide you with a place to play and hang out. If you play a show and no one is there to hear you we'll be less likely to give you another date.) We rarely print flyers for shows unless they are for our regular weekly acts (which currently, there are none) . You must provide your own flyers. Sound We have an excellent PA system with good monitors and several microphones. We also employ two in-house sound guys (Aaron and Frank) who help make sure setup/breakdown is smooth, you sound as best as you can, and the show is a success. We are always working on improving our system (microphone upgrades, etc). If you want anything special for your performance (your own mic, guitar amp mics, etc...). Bring it and I'm sure we can accomodate. Requirements 1. MUSIC STARTS AT 9PM EVERY NIGHT. We strongly prefer ALL bands are present with equipment loaded into the venue prior to the start of the show. If this cannot be done, please make sure to contact us and give an estimate as to what time you expect to arrive. Equipment can generally be staged in the kitchen area. DO NOT use the hallway from the back door to the stage as equipment storage. The venue can be fined for that. 2. Flyers must be brought in to us no later than 10 days before the date you are scheduled to play. How many you provide is how many we will attempt to pass out through that time. We place flyers on tables during the day and during shows and events. We also have no problem with you hanging flyers for your night inside the venue and out on our board. 3. Please assure that you will not be playing too loud. We cannot stress how important this is to your crowd retention. People will leave if they cannot order drinks and talk. The Owner, Entertainment Director, Manager on Duty, or Soundman will tell you if you are too loud. If this is not corrected we will cut the show until it is. 4. Friday and Saturdays are busier nights. We prefer that no less than 3 bands fill up the entire night. If you are not willing to accommodate this we may not book the show (there are always exceptions). Any questions, comments, or concerns about this information should be directed to Jim, our Entertainment Director. He can be reached by emailing rallis4thst@yahoo.com Thank you! G-Slingin' Jim |

It's done on the "Vato Scale." One to Two Vatos in a car is probably okay, but a full ride is just asking for trouble. Like a drive-by. -Rob www.myspace.com/holidaysail www.kronikindustries.com www.holidaysail.com "He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Too loud is when someone can't go to the bar and order a drink because the bartender can't hear them. No one likes screaming their asses off to get a drink. Not only does that hurt the bar because we aren't making a whole lot of money at that point... but you're paid off that bar take as well.
We have a capacity of 155, 200 or so if we remove all of the tables. If you have a packed house the volumes can be significantly higher because you use the people as baffles, anyone at the front of the stage will like it loud anyway. If you're playing to an empty house a half stack on 4 could be ear shattering. A good indication you're too loud is that people start migrating to the patio. We're going to start micing guitar cabs I'm thinking... that way we have more control of the sound volume. G-Slingin' Jim |

That actually makes sense (to me at least), kronikrob. It's sort of amusing about your (J Connors)response, seeing that when we played there, we packed them in. (We have been accused of being more than Two Vatos loud.) No one migrated to the patio, and the crowd was-a-drinkin'. My trouble ordering a drink at Ralli's was the absolute snubbing I recieved from the not-really-busy bar staff. Actually they were busy---yaking to their "bros", "hooking them up" with "phat" drinks. Even though I had been the only one standing at the bar before aboved mentioned "bros" (the bar-keeps term, not mine) came blustering up to the bar*. But y'all's p.a. was good and as I've said here before, Frank the Sound Man was totally pro. He gave us a great mix, had no problem with our volume. In fact he reconized that it was all about the tone with us. Same goes with the Security staff. Treated us ace and were quite helpful. *all words in quotes were just that; quotes I overheard the bartenders (a male and a female) use. (still the best) Hated (band in town)..... |

Hehehehe... we're not just a rock club. We do a variety of music ranging from acoustic performers. (Shane Wallin, Magen White, Ethereal Glow, Jenny Gamble), to full on metal shows. What we've seen is that the louder the band is the less people we get from the street. The reason Black Maria's sound WAS tolerable was because they packed them in (that and they just kick a whopping mess of ass). I was there and saw them and had no qualms at all with the volume. Sorry about the bartenders black... wish you could tell me which one it was. We have like 6. Anyway... moral of the story: Pack em in! Volumes increase as the club gains favor in the music community. That's what I'm there for. G-Slingin' Jim |
